If I Could Live My Life Over
If I could live my life over there’s a lot I would change.
I would strive to do more of what really matters in the whole scheme of things.
Life is too precious to be irritated, frustrated, and upset,
Over future situations and events that haven’t even happened yet.
As we all know, many things we dread never come to pass,
And our fear of tomorrow often gives us heartburn, ulcers, and gas.
What fools we are to let our tomorrows ruin our todays,
Life would be much more delightful if we simply changed our ways.
If I could live my life over I would care more about people and less about things.
For example, the person with the fingers is what matters, not their expensive finger rings.
The man is far more important than the fancy car he drives.
Lavish cars and homes and lots of money are so insignificant compared to our lives.
We’ve all heard the question asked about the rich man who died:
“How much did he leave?” “He left it all!” was the answer replied.
The only thing we can take to Heaven is what we send ahead.
No luggage is allowed on the trip we take when we’re laid in our final bed.
If I could live my life over I would pay more attention to the simple things of life.
I would play more leap frog with my children and take long walks with my wife.
I would “stop to smell the roses,” as the saying goes;
After all, they were created to delight our eyes and our nose.
If I could live my life over I would spend more time alone with God on my knees,
Reading the Bible, His love letter to man, and thanking Him for beautiful babies and birds and trees.
I would spend more time thanking Him for His infinite love and the gift of His dear Son,
